Here’s a groovy, sweet new song about celebrating 15 years of marriage, something my dear hubby and I are preparing to do this fall. It’s called Dancing in the Minefield by Andrew Peterson from the album Counting Stars (out next week). I identify with so many of the lyrics:
We said our vows and took the leap now 15 years ago.
To lose your life for another I’ve heard is a good place to begin…and I believe it’s an easy price for the life that we have found.
We went dancing in the minefields; we went sailing in the storms.
It was harder than we ever dreamed, but I believe that’s what the promise is for.
Do you relate to the poetry of the song? Is marriage harder than you ever dreamed but an easy price for the life you have found? Or do you disagree and think it’s smooth sailing? (If the latter, please tell us if you’re a newlywed!)
